In response to an architectural competition, I have been working on a new ocean-based project: OCEANSCAPE.
OCEANSCAPE asks what happens when architecture stops treating the ocean as empty territory for human occupation and instead designs around the spatial needs of a living reef.
Based on a real site location in Himmafushi, Maldives, Oceanscape protects existing reef, repairs damaged ground and is designs ecological architecture only where there is meaningful opportunity to do so.
