Crystal Monastery - Island huts

As with the form language of the Temple, the residential huts are void of curves, inspired by crystal and lightening. Since they are smaller residential buildings, I didn't want them to compete with the grand expressiveness of the Temple, but I did want to supply a hint of it.

Built on the exterior of the tropical island, the huts had to have a sense of openness to allow for significant cross-ventilation, while also being able to transform during heavy storms (achieved via a series of drop-down sheets and panels). The primary building materials are the most common found on the island, timber/bamboo, slate and grass; built into the natural stone and crystal of the land.
